SAN FRANCISCO, CA – 12 June 2009 – Robin McCasland has been named 2009–2010 chair of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Research Foundation. McCasland officially took over the position yesterday, at the Research Foundation luncheon and seminar at the IABC World Conference in San Francisco.

As chair of the Research Foundation, McCasland will work with the Foundation’s Board of Trustees to provide strategic direction for the organization, raise the profile of the Foundation and its research, and ensure that the Foundation continues to serve as the preeminent source for intellectual capital for the communication profession.

In addition to her role as chair of the IABC Research Foundation, McCasland is a director in the Dallas communication practice of Buck Consultants, an ACS Company.  Before becoming a consultant, she spent nearly a decade in various human resources communication, university relations, recruiting and marketing roles with Texas Instruments and the Semiconductor Industry Association.

“The overarching theme for the Research Foundation this year is greater cultural awareness. We are gathering input currently from potential researchers and partners outside of North America so that we can do a better job meeting the needs of IABC members globally, says McCasland. “We will continue to focus our work in three areas, including the research process, marketing and finance. We are also seeking more tailored relationships with researchers and sponsors so that we can deliver timely, relevant and useful research for our members.”

  • Employee Engagement Survey, 2009
  • Preparing Messages for Information Overload Environments, 2008
  • Survey of Generational Communication Differences around the Globe, 2008
